The influence of food intake specificity in children with autism on gut microbiota

The influence of food intake specificity in children with autism on gut microbiota

AUTHORS: Sashova Tomova, A., Šoltys, K., Keményová, P., Karhánek, M. and Babinská, K. ABSTRACT: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex of neurodevelopmental conditions with increasing incidence. The microbiota of children with ASD is distinct from neurotypical children, their food habits are also different, and it is known that nutrient intake influences microbiota in a

Špecifiká prejavov porúch autistického spektra u dievčat predškolského veku (Autism specrum disorders symptoms in pre-school girls)

AUTHORS: Čelárová, D., Celušáková, H., Szapuová, Ž. and Ostatníková, D. ABSTRACT: Autism spectrum disorders are more common in males than females. Cause of this ratio is unknown and has been ascribed to hormonal (extreme male brain theory) or genetic (female protective model) etiology. One of the plausible explanations is the ability of girls to better

Detection of disease-associated microRNAs – application for autism spectrum disorders

Detection of disease-associated microRNAs – application for autism spectrum disorders

AUTHORS: Konečná, B., Radošinská, J., Keményová, P. and Repiská, G. ABSTRACT: Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) diagnostic procedure still lacks a uniform biological marker. This review gathers the information on microRNAs (miRNAs) specifically as a possible source of biomarkers of ASD. Extracellular vesicles, and their subset of exosomes, are believed to be a tool of cell-to-cell
