{"id":21234,"date":"2021-03-13T20:27:03","date_gmt":"2021-03-13T19:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acva.sk\/diagnostika-2\/"},"modified":"2022-03-18T13:53:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T12:53:53","slug":"diagnostika-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/acva.sk\/en\/diagnostika-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Diagnostics"},"content":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">At&nbsp;present, there is no biological marker on the basis of which a diagnosis can be made. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>The basis of clinical diagnosis of ASD is, above all, high-quality and complex observation<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">, which must be based on a very good knowledge of the usual manifestations of these disorders  at&nbsp;various stages of development. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">Various objective tools have been developed to diagnose and evaluate the symptoms of ASD. <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">The combination of<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b> Autism Diagnostic Observation &#8211; Second Edition (ADOS-2)<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"> a&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Autism Diagnostic Interview &#8211; Revised (ADI-R<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">) is considered the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>&#8220;gold standard&#8221; in the diagnosis of ASD<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">, both scales providing a comprehensive and complex picture of o&nbsp;ASD. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Autism Diagnostic Observation &#8211; Second Edition (ADOS-2)<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">a diagnostic method that focuses on evaluating the manifestations of ASD during a partially structured interaction with the administrator. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">ADOS-2 consists of  z&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>five modules<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">, which are selected &nbsp;depending on the chronological age and&nbsp;verbal communication level of the individual: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Toddler module <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">for children from 12 to 30 months of age. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Modul 1<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"> for individuals 31 months of age and&nbsp;older who do not use speech consistently (in phrases), <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Modul 2<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"> for individuals of any age who use speech in phrases, but the speech is not fluent <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Modul 3<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"> for fluent verbal children and&nbsp;young adolescents. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a> <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Modul 4 <\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">designed for fluently verbal older adolescents and&nbsp;adults.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">The activities provide an interesting and&nbsp;standardized context for social behaviour in the form of play or conversation. During the 40-60 minutes of ADOS-2 examination, the administrator will get a picture of&nbsp;four areas \u2013 language and&nbsp;communication skills, mutual social interaction, play, stereotypes and&nbsp;and narrowly defined interests. Based on the ADOS-2 examination, it is also possible to determine the quantitative rate of ASD symptoms<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">(Lord 2000<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"> Lord 2012)<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\"><b>Autism Diagnostic Interview &#8211; Revised (ADI-R<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">is a partially structured interview with a&nbsp;parent \/ caretaker that covers the three main areas of ASD problems, which are the quality of reciprocal social interaction, the quality of communication, and&nbsp;limited, repetitive and stereotypical patterns of behaviour. It lasts 90-150 minutes and&nbsp;is suitable for individuals with &nbsp;developmental level corresponding to the level of at least two years of age <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">(Lord 1994; Kim 2012)<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">In addition to evaluation through specific evaluation scales, the diagnosis itself consists of a thorough evaluation of the developmental history (anamnesis), <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">relevant information for differential diagnosis and<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">possible comorbidities, while the result of the specific scales does not replace the clinical judgment of the expert. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"sk-SK\">Diagnosis of ASD is not easy due to the high variability of manifestations.
